Growing the headcount in our studio is not something we do for the sake of it. It's about finding the right people at the right time. And it’s about bringing something fresh and unique to the table.
For a small studio like ours, every new member is a decision that changes everything. It shifts the dynamic and direction of the work in ways that are hard to predict until they're already happening. That's why when we grow, we grow with purpose.
“EDL is small and profitable, and I plan to keep it that way. So I hire slowly and I'm picky about it. Hiring well matters more than hiring fast.”

Frederick Andersen
The Design System Engineer role is new at the studio. It didn't exist before Alessandro, and that's worth noting since it also reflects where we're headed. Our projects are growing, and we need someone to ensure the foundations that enable great product design to scale and be LLM-ready. This role is a statement about the kind of studio we're becoming: one where quality is built into the system, not just applied on the surface.
The same thinking applies to how we approach marketing. How we communicate who we are has become just as important as the work we put out. Maria owns that and approaches it with the same precision and instinct we put into everything else we do.
These two additions are part of the bigger picture. Our studio is maturing, and with that comes a clearer sense of what we need to be great at, not just in the work we deliver, but in how we show up.
Alessandro and Maria bring distinct skills and genuine curiosity to what they do. That's what we look for, and what moves the work forward. We’re clear about what kind of studio we’re building, and we know that the right path is already beneath our feet.
